Grant Writer/Project Specialist Job Position
Work remotely or in Lawrence, Lynn or Jamaica Plain location with flexible hours!
Responsibilities:
Prepares proposals by determining concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.
Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal attending strategy meetings.
Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
Enters and monitors tracking data.
Coordinates requirements with contributors and contributes proposal status information to review meetings.
Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
Develop or modify project plans and track their progress
Assist with vendor management, negotiating contracts and ensuring work is completed on time to a high standard of quality
Process expense reports and payments to outside vendors
Clearly communicate project goals to other team members
Create reports for our management team and presentations for clients
Document client feedback
Perform market and competitor research to update processes and identify new opportunities
Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.
Writes, revises, and edits drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding and coordinating printing.
Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
Obtains approvals by reviewing proposal with key providers and project managers.
Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financials needs of the organization
Research grand opportunities from government and non-government agencies
Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization
Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals
Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and stakeholders
Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities and/or special project

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, creative writing or a related area
A minimum of two years of experience in grant writing/project specialist
Project management experience a plus
Organizational, time management, and communication skills
Computer proficiency, particularly with spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process
Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization
Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
Multitasking, organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity
